Star Wars One Shot Game Session

Every once in a while the Flaming Sofa Productions crew likes to get together and have a one night, one session, one shot game session. Pre-gen characters, simple plotlines, and lots of fun.

This is one of those sessions. We recently (June 22nd) got together and played a one shot session of Star Wars 3.5 edition, helmed by our GM Colton. The main purpose of the session was to playtest and experiment with a new character class, a new angle on Force Sensitives, that Colton has created. We had a blast playing the game and we hope you all get a kick out of listening.

Warning - this episode has had very minimal editing and due to its sheer length had to be chopped into two bits. Part 1 is approximately 3 hours 22 minutes in length and Part 2 is approximately 1 hour 57 minutes in length.

  1. Love the disclaimer, I can't wait to get the chance to listen to this one. It's a bit long for my typical listening routine so I'll have to find the right time. We've played a couple game of 3.5 Star Wars in the past (house ruled to the hilt) and I'd like to see some other takes on the genre.

    1. Hehe, thanks! :) I usually don't listen to podcasts that are all one big chunk all that often myself. I've had a few folks mention that they'd like longer episodes so I thought this might be a nice compromise. "A Shadow in the Soul" will be shorter episodes, like those in "At Sixes and Sevens".

Star Wars is definitely a game that lends itself nicely to house ruling and different angles. I'd love to hear about how your group runs your games in the setting.

    2. The way we play it is basically not the same game anymore. Our Star Wars storyteller has a 30 page word file of house rules, seriously. 80% of them pertain to ship combat (the scope of his games is usually huge), fleet issues and such but there isn't much of the game that hasn't been touched at least a little bit.

    3. That's pretty awesome. We honestly haven't done much ship combat before (as evidenced in the podcast) but it has always been a cool concept in my opinion.

    1. Aw, thanks! :D I'm pretty sure that all of us have done some theatre/acting type stuff in the past.

I would love to make a movie/short film one day. If only one of us had gone to film school *cough-cough Shane cough*
